Veil As An Important Wedding Accessory
Everyone is different in terms of preference like in weddings. This is the main reason why you will not see two identical weddings in terms of gowns and other bridal needs like the bridal accessories. Different bridal fashion tastes are being used by couples in order to make their weddings unique and memorable to everyone who will see it. Even bridal needs such as lingerie would not be the same with all brides.
Bridal accessories for the hair are by far those that have lots of options for bride. For example, some brides may choose to wear tiaras on their wedding day and feel like a princess or a queen who are getting married to their grooms. There are some who would go with the traditional wedding veil, which also comes in different style. With this, the following are the information needed to know by every bride about veils to find the ones suitable for their needs.
The Anatomy of a Veil
The main concept that will come into mind about veils is that they are the light fabric, covering the head of the bride. However, this sort of holistic concept of veil has two parts. The blusher is the fabric that covers the bride’s face. This is the fabric raised by the groom once the officiant gives his most awaited line “You may now kiss the bride.” Usually, the length of the blusher may start from the head up to the bust but it may also vary depending on the preference of the bride.
The veil is the part covering the back of the head. It is attached on the hair of the bride depending on how it is styled. There are many types of veil in terms of its length.
The first type of veil is the bird cage veil, which is the shortest among the veils available. The reason why it is given that term is that it resembles the shape of a bird cage with the size just enough to fit the head. The usual length may only reach up to the chin but there are also other variations. There is the wedge veil that is worn diagonally to cover just one eye. The veil that only reaches up to the bridge of the nose is called the angle veil.
The next type is called fly-away. The length of this veil only reaches up to the shoulder. The reason why it is called fly-away is because it has several layers that looks like a hair styled in a fly-away manner.
The third veil is called elbow because the length reaches up to the elbow part of the bride. Like fly-away, this veil can also have a several layers.
Finger tip can be considered as the conventional veil used by many brides. The veil length reaches up to the finger tips.
The ballet veil reaches up to the knees or even longer but will is not lower than the ankle. The possible reason why it’s called ballet is that the length use is also the same as the dresses worn for ballet performances or rehearsals for women.
Chapel is can be several inches more than the gown’s chapel train.
Cathedral is considered the longest among all the veils. Many brides use this type of veil because it adds makes their walk more dramatic than the usual.
